One love story does not define romance

Women's fiction and reading-group fiction may focus on marriage, work, family or self-reinvention. Genre romance generally centers a romantic relationship and offers an emotionally satisfying relationship resolution. Don't promise a conventional romance arc if your story isn't built around one.

Women's fiction outlets

Start with reading groups, contemporary-fiction bloggers, lifestyle publications covering midlife and family, and writer interview series. Offer a thoughtful question, author Q&A and discussion prompts. Dreams Live Here can be introduced through family business, marriage and moving abroad, not invented romance tropes.

Romance and romantasy outlets

Give accurate tropes, heat level, relationship pairing, standalone/series status, age category and ending expectations. For romantasy, add the balance between magic and romance. Filter BookTok, Bookstagram and reviewers by real subgenre; a dark romance account isn't automatically a fit for a closed-door romantic comedy.

Agents and publishers

For a publisher, genre is a commercial promise. Supply correct word count, the entire plot with ending when requested, honest publication history and rights. For reviewers, supply a nonspoiler blurb and optional review copy. See agent preparation and five email angles.

Make each mention findable

Use one canonical book page containing accurate English title, author, cover, language, series, samples and links; send that URL rather than only an Instagram profile. A no-budget visibility checklist explains the next steps.
