Your book needs its own permanent URL
Create an indexable page for each language edition with the exact author name, title, series position, genre, high-quality cover, honest blurb, open sample and purchase links. A homepage carousel alone is difficult for readers and editors to cite. Provide obvious routes back to the author and between books.
Make factual metadata consistent
Use one spelling for the author identity, clear translation titles, self-referencing canonicals and reciprocal hreflang where equivalent localized pages exist. Structured Book and Person data can describe facts but cannot guarantee rich results or AI citations. Google Book actions require more than adding a simple JSON-LD block.
Get independent references without link schemes
A genuine written interview, book-club selection and honest review are reader-serving citations. Supply cover images, an accurate media kit, real author biography and a sample chapter. Don't buy batches of low-quality backlinks or fabricate awards or endorsements.
What Google says about AI search
Google's AI features documentation says standard search fundamentals still apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode. There is no special guaranteed GEO tag. Make content indexable and genuinely useful, with original details and citations; a separate llms.txt may aid voluntary discovery but is not a documented ranking signal.
Technical checklist
Test the correct 200 OK canonical URL, check robots.txt for blocking rules, include it in your XML sitemap, link it from a browsable category page and watch indexing in Search Console. For sites with multiple languages, avoid accidentally canonicalizing Russian pages to English. Check mobile layout, accessibility and any broken image or checkout link.
Measure influence with humility
Track query impressions for author and title, organic landing pages, earned mentions and visits to book samples. Do not treat an AI-generated answer as proof of factual authority or a single review as guaranteed sales.
